Elke Hardt, Assistant Director, received her B.A. in Psychology from La Sierra University (California) and began her counseling career at an adolescent residential treatment center in Lincoln Heights, CA. She decided to combine her love of sport with her desire to continue in a helping profession, and pursued a M.Ed. degree at Springfield College (Massachusetts) in Counseling & Psychological Services with a specialization in Athletic Counseling. Originally from Montreal, Canada, Elke returned to her native land and opened a regional office of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Olympic Athlete Career Centre in Calgary. Providing transition counseling to national team athletes sparked an interest in career counseling, and when she returned to the U.S. Elke began her career in university career services, an environment she has enjoyed for 20+ years. She has also taught at several universities and community colleges, serving as adjunct faculty for Psychology and First Year Seminar courses.
