Event: Donation Sorting
Downtown Women's Center receives a wide array of in-kind donations, including clothing, accessories, personal care products, and household items. Help us sort, organize, and distribute these donations across our programs. Possible activities include: pulling items to be distributed in our Day Center or sold at our resale boutique, discarding unfit donations, sorting toiletry items by type, or cleaning and rearranging the storage areas for different programs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena
Positive Place for Children
Event:
Boys & Girls Clubs fill the gap between school and home. We provide a welcoming, positive environment in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and adults.

Homeless Kit Drive
Event: Basic Need Kits
As part of the Service Learning Month, we are going to be putting together a Basic Need Kits for the Homeless Population at Skid Row. We will need help on 10/11 to assemble the kits on the LA Cmaous and on 10/12 to deliver them on Skid Row right outside the Union Rescue Mission of LA.
Supplies include:
- Deodorant
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Hand sanitizer (no alcohol)
- Granola bar
- Chapstick
- Water bottle
- Tuna and crackers
- Fruit snack or apple sauce
- Hand wipes
- Sanitary pads
- Socks
- Blankets

Ronald McDonald House - Trunk of Treat
Event:
The Orange County Ronald McDonald House event, Trunk or Treat is a "Friendraiser" for families staying in the house and also the surrounding Batavia street neighbors. The families in the house have children that are away from their own home on Halloween.
Trunk or treat is a way for families with critically ill children to get outside on Halloween and have some fun in a safe environment during this stressful time.

Second Harvest Food Bank
Event:
The activities for the event are announced on the morning of the event as they are dependent on what donations we receive. Generally, volunteers help to sort and package fresh produce, non-perishable food, or food drive items. These projects are moderately physical. Volunteers may be involved in moving moderate to heavy items.

- Please do not bring purses or backpacks as storage is limited and they are not allowed in our project areas.
- We recommend not bringing any valuable items with you as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

- The temperature in the distribution center is like the temperature outside. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing accordingly.

Streets of Hope
Event:
Every Monday night the Streets of Hope serves San Diego's homeless by passing out bags of food, water, encouragement and other items. When you come downtown to serve San Diego's homeless community you will be giving your time to help serve those who truly need your help. Helping those who have much to give to those who have little is part of the mission of the Streets of Hope.
Here are some other things we believe you will gain from serving the San Diego homeless community:
- You will experience what it means to give to others
- You will be safe
- You will want to come back
- You will make new friends
You do not need to bring anything when helping us serve the homeless. Just come.

Pacific Oaks College Partnership
Pasadena Ronald McDonald House
Event:
Recruit a group of friends, co-workers, or even your own family to join you in preparing a lunch or dinner for the families staying at the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House.
Meals of Love Guidelines:
- All volunteers preparing food at the House need to sign a waiver before beginning meal prep. Anyone under 18 must have a parent sign their waiver before arriving;
- Please plan to prepare food for 30 to 35 people.
- Lunch is served at 12 pm and Dinner at 6 pm
- Please open and read the event fully to see additional details.
Once you have picked a Meal of Love date on our calendar, you must be confirmed by our team, and you will receive special instructions on how to register your group via email.
The House provides standard cooking utensils, and pots and pans. Plastic utensil are available but Meal Groups are encouraged to bring sturdy paper plates to serve on.

Pasadena Education Foundation: Garden Clean-up

Weeding, harvesting,a dn cleaning up garden beds.
Did you know there are 18 edible gardens at Pasadena Unified School District that prodeuces 1,000' of punds of fruits and vegetables as part of the Farm to School Program? There are! We are looking for some volunteer support to keep it going and make it a community effort.
- Be prepared to get dirty. Do not wear your Sunday best.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and sunscreen.
- Bring a refillable water bottle.
- Bring your own garden gloves and tools, if you wish, but we will have some for you to use as well.
