The Student Affairs Committee (SAC) is The Chicago School's student conduct entity. SAC conducts disciplinary proceedings upon referral from a student’s academic department. SAC hears cases in which a student has either violated a policy within University Community Norms and Standards or has not made expected progress toward degree completion. All SAC proceedings are private and protected in accordance with FERPA. A student is required to comply with professional behavior standards throughout the SAC process.
The mission of SAC is two-fold:
-
Ensure that a referred student receives fair treatment while maintaining the integrity of the school's mission and philosophy. In the process of arriving at decisions, SAC strives to maintain an understanding of and respect for individual and cultural differences.
-
Partner with academic departments to support students as they develop professional identity and behavior consistent with the prevailing conduct standards in the disciplines represented at the school.
