Troubleshooting video & audio

Troubleshooting video and audio quality

General troubleshooting

  • Reduce the number of webcams in your meeting, or stop using them altogether
  • Use the telephone connection for voice instead of VoIP (computer microphone & speakers)
  • A large number of video participants can impact performance
  • Close all unnecessary applications

Network connectivity

If you're the only one experiencing choppy sound and video that stutters, the problem's likely with your computer's network connection.

A hardwired (Ethernet) connection will always provide a better experience than a wireless connection. But if hardwiring isn't an option, there are some tactics you can try to improve your wireless connection:

  • Situate yourself close to the wireless router, preferably within line-of-sight
  • If at home, ask other users to stop streaming music or video content to their devices
